Original Song, ‘You Can’t Take It Back’ From the Children’s Musical, Busy Izzy And Friends Meet The Three Little Pigs, #1 on the Night.
The talented creators, producers and writers of the children’s series Busy Izzy and Friends stepped into the spotlight yet again when they won the Songs For Children Category at the ASA 43rd National Songwriting Awards for the second year in a row. It brings their tally of ASA awards to five.
Roxanne and Stephen are the sole writers of all the Busy Izzy and Friends compositions. Not only are they entertaining, each song lyrically delivers an important social message in a fun and interactive way.
“You Can’t Take It Back”, for example, observes that it is unwise to say or do anything you may regret later because once it’s out there, you really can’t take it back. Other core subjects include the importance of teamwork, kindness to others, problem solving and healthy habits
Once you’ve been to a Busy Izzy and Friends live performance, you’ll appreciate the positive effect the show has on children. How they sing along, dance, laugh and interact with the performers and each other is a joy to behold. As a parent or grandparent, you’ll probably smile quietly to yourself and think, “Happy I made the decision to come along.”
IT TAKES YEARS TO BECOME AN OVERNIGHT SUCCESS
Yes it takes talent but it also requires an enormous amount of hard work, dedication and the ability to hold on to your dreams when things get tough. (As they sometimes do.)
Both Roxanne and Stephen have put in the hard yards. In the days prior to a Busy Izzy show hitting the stage, they can be found letterbox dropping flyers, advertising the event, mending costumes and fine tuning the script to ensure Mr. WP Wolf is scary, but not too scary.
They both have decades of experience as singer songwriters and graduated from The School Of Life with degrees in the Power Of Positive Thinking and Getting Things Done. Roxanne is also author of the Busy Izzy and Friends picture books and a highly respected voice coach. Stephen is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and teacher. Together they have poured their hearts and souls into the Busy Izzy and Friends program.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR BUSY IZZY?
As they celebrate this milestone, Roxanne and Stephen are already looking ahead to new horizons. Fans can look forward to more delightful music, exciting live performances and book four in the series will be published in 2025 as well as extending Busy Izzy and Friends visibility through innovative new media opportunities. Busy Izzy is also actively looking for new, like-minded friends and partners to help maximise the product’s social and commercial potential.
